How an Awsome Mirror was created out of small left over pieces of Recycled Timber

We'd like to show off our latest design. This gorgeous mirror was made when there was a spare moment in the workshop.

We only use recycled timbers and can use almost any timbers that come in the workshop door. Small off cuts the size of a pack of cards, or smaller, are all that is turned into firewood at the end of the day.

Looking in the scrap bucket inspired a new patchwork or parquetry design.

A solid mirror frame was made using recycled Oregon timbers from the wall studs salvaged from a house near Chatswood in Sydney. Then; the creative part!  Almost like a jigsaw,  small off-cuts were collected. These were then smothered in glue and nailed in position with small adjustments to fit. After a sand and a coat of furniture oil, this beautiful new mirror emerged.

This unique mirror which was created with lots of creative spontaneity has become a treasured Christmas present to our granddaughter.

But.... we like it so much that it's now added to the website as a whole new product line. As always, thanks for reading about our story  and hope you order something online at Wombat Frames Australia. Custom orders are welcome.

As you can see, we've made another mirror in the same style since then. Here it is with a happy customer holding it. Ready to hang both horizontally or vertically.
